A writer's Random ramblings
Oh, no. It’s laundry day, but the detergent seems low. Can it all get done? Does there exist a more efficient way of getting laundry pods? Who wants to go out and search for good prices on detergent to get the job done? Everything else gets delivered, or so it seems, so why shop for detergent?
Now, with Smol, you don’t have to. This new company provides a subscription service, complete with a trial pack before signup. I tripped over their offer on Instagram, although it also lives at http://smol-us.refr.cc/veronicab, the link they provided me to help you find yours. For the sample pack, I paid $1 shipping to receive 12 pods as a trial. This arrived in a cardboard box containing a recycled, recyclable plastic sleeve with childproof closures, although those with arthritis or other concerns can always put the pods in a container they already use. As I signed up, it asked me to pick a pack size and frequency for suture shipments. Since we have 4 people in the family, I chose the 120 pack to be delivered every 210 days. The pods also come in 24 or 72 packs, per the website. The company charges for the box of pods only, no shipping on the subscription, 3 days before shipment, which in most cases takes less than a week to arrive. The pods themselves appear the same size as many commercially available ones. The clear plastic pouch contains green, slightly freshly scented liquid. In my all-in-one washer/dryer, I set the machine to a high spin speed when I use cold water to be sure the pod melts all of the way, but I do this for any brand of pods. The soap itself washes clothing gently, for which I used to think I had to buy clear pods marked “gentle.” Therefore, even people with sensitive skin, allergies, or skin conditions can use Smol. In the first several loads I tried the product, it softened even old sweatshirts and bedsheets. I recommend it for houses with children as well thanks to the softening power. In our society built on convenience, Smol laundry pods give everyone a better way to do laundry. We can save shipping while ordering the pods in batches suited to the size of each household. This will go a long way to keep people from running out of laundry detergent. I highly recommend checking out http://smol-us.refr.cc/veronicab and at least seeing what Smol has to offer.
