A writer's Random ramblings
Although I never knew the man personally, I came to see George H. W. Bush as the grandfather of the United States of America, as did many others. For that reason, I present the following in honor of the man and his natural family, as well as those who adopted him as a great man.
Times of Loss At the time we lose a parent Or someone equally important And feel truly bereaved Our best and truest friends help us grieve With just one more hug or one more touch To remind us that we haven’t been deprived of so much Nor are we all alone now Even though that might be exactly how We feel in spite Of knowing someone has found God’s eternal light. Friends here on earth help us send all our love To accompany the departed to splendor above As they enter into the forever Beyond what the living know as we join together With saints of long ago and more recently Who continue with other friends helping those who journey Still through this fallen World of darkness and sin. So, as our personal saints become angels on the wing They and friends help us past our grief so we can join to sing All glory, honor, and praise To the God who grants light to our days By sending us special friends Who help our souls continue to mend By bringing us comfort, compassion, peace, and love With connections to those on earth and saints above Through words and deeds keeping the friendship real As broken souls continue to heal Transporting earthly friends to heights beyond Which they never imagined in the strength of their bond.
